The weekend is almost here. Perhaps it will be a break from your job, but there's never a break from the privilege and challenge of living for our Savior Jesus!
  • It is more blessed to give than receive. Man's wisdom, right? Well, turns out it's a reflection of God's wisdom. Check out what Proverbs says. Prov. 11:17,24-26 "A man who is kind benefits himself, but a cruel man hurts himself... One gives freely, yet grows all the richer; another withholds what he should give, and only suffers want. Whoever brings blessing will be enriched, and one who waters will himself be watered. The people curse him who holds back grain, but a blessing is on the head of him who sells it." The Proverbs are a wonderful source of God's wisdom...Read them!
  • Is God not speaking or are we not listening? Good thoughts from Ed Welch.
  • If you were at GBC this past Sunday, you might remember me saying something about the necessity of words to communicate the gospel. Well, the quote I mentioned has popped up again this week.
  • This is not time sensitive - looks like these will be free forever on Kindle. But R.C. Sproul has a series of booklets called Crucial Questions addressing questions like "Can I be sure I'm saved; Can I trust the Bible; What is faith" and others. I won't agree with Sproul on all of these topics, but I downloaded a bunch of them back when they were made available for free. You can too.

To start the day without prayer is to suggest the devil is feeble, God is irrelevant, and we can handle things on our own.
